3 WAF Awards Shortlist
The shortlist for the 2025 World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards was officially announced today. Three projects submitted by CLOU architects—Wuhan Snow World, Polo de Saúde de Évora, and CapitaMall Skyview—have been selected from nearly a thousand global entries. The team will compete for the final awards this November in Miami.

Client: Wuhan Urban Investment, Sunac
A variety of entertainment, sports, and retail facilities groups around a central lake to form a super-large commercial complex. An indoor ski slope, outdoor theme park, and retail street merge through a unified design language to form an immersive urban leisure landmark.

Client: University of Évora
The Health Centre of the University of Évora proposes a new model of academic architecture rooted in community and spatial openness. Conceived as a fragmented village beneath a unifying canopy, the scheme creates a series of shaded courtyards, terraces, and informal gathering spaces that extend learning into the public realm. This layout promotes accessibility, interaction, and shared use, fostering stronger ties between the university and its surrounding community.

An interior streetscape is designed to evoke the feeling of exploring a vibrant urban environment. As visitors navigate the mall’s interconnected levels, they encounter a variety of engaging elements that create a playful and immersive experience.
About the Award
Architecture Festival (WAF) is one of the most prestigious and largest international awards programs in the field of architecture. This year’s edition marks the first time the festival is being held in the United States. A distinguished jury of 164 experts from 37 countries will evaluate submissions from around the globe, across categories such as Best Creative Reuse, Housing, Education, as well as Hospitality, Sports, and Culture. The festival celebrates the most groundbreaking achievements in architecture and design worldwide.
