Blending Tradition, Nature, and Industry

Located in Guangxi, the Liuzhou Boutique Hotel is conceived as an urban retreat that bridges city and nature. Rising 80 metres by the Liu River, the hotel integrates ethnic architectural references, vibrant cultural elements, and industrial aesthetics, offering approximately 100 rooms, social spaces, and leisure facilities across 12 levels. With all guest rooms facing the river, the design provides a continuous dialogue between indoors and outdoors, creating a relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere.

A Vertical Landmark for Liuzhou

Situated where three rivers converge, Liuzhou is known for its picturesque karst mountains and unique urban character. The hotel aspires to become a recognisable landmark, working within a modest plot ratio of 2.8 and a height of 80 metres. By stacking and extending floorplates in a staggered rhythm, the design maximises floor area and guestroom count, while creating a floating, layered silhouette inspired by traditional eaves.

Seamless Integration of Culture and Context

The architectural approach draws from local mortise-and-tenon wooden construction, reinterpreted in a contemporary structural expression. Set between mountain and water, the ground floor remains open, inviting the landscape into the building and establishing an urban oasis. Flexible partitions frame views of the Liu River from every room, reinforcing the hotel’s continuous connection with its surroundings.

Blending Modernity with Heritage

Modern industrial elements are integrated throughout the design, including a metal spiral staircase and a cantilevered infinity pool, offering guests a striking and memorable experience. The inclusion of facilities such as a gym, sky pool, ballroom, and multipurpose halls further enriches the hotel’s offering, transforming it into both a destination for visitors and a social node for the city.
