A pair of interlocking volumes extend from a tower in central Tianjin.

Sales and Meeting Suite with Colour-Shifting Aluminium Façade
Completed in October 2011, the Tianjin International Trade Center Showroom is a 2,000 square metre extension project. Commissioned by CapitaLand China, the scope included concept, façade and layout design. The project is located in the core area of Tianjin’s central business district and serves as the sales and display centre for the adjacent International Trade Center office and residential development.

Interlocking Boxes Plugged into an Existing Tower
The design introduces a series of interlocking double-height volumes projecting from the existing tower structure. The new massing is articulated as two main cubic forms that function respectively as a model apartment showroom and a business meeting suite. This composition creates a visually distinct architectural identity while efficiently integrating with the existing tower.

Façade with Iridescent Aluminium Panels
The outer skin is clad in aluminium composite panels with a colour-shifting finish. Depending on the angle of sunlight and viewer’s position, the façade reflects hues of green, pink, or blue. This ever-changing appearance adds vibrancy to the urban environment and provides a recognisable visual marker for the showroom.
