Shaping the Social Heart of Xiamen Bay
Located in northern coastal Xiamen, Boyu Sports Village forms part of the city’s largest rental-based mixed-use community. Designed by CLOU architects, the project integrates living, sports, social, and commercial spaces, centred around a sports-themed park, a social pool, and versatile open-air spaces, covering 15,680 sqm. Currently under construction, the project is set for completion by the end of 2025.
Community Concept
Boyu Sports Village is envisioned as the first-choice residence for young people in Xiamen, combining independent living, collective enjoyment, and co-living. CLOU architects respond to the needs of a new generation by merging social interaction, sports, and everyday life, creating a cohesive and open community environment.
A Flexible Sports and Social Village
At the centre of the design is an open and flexible ‘sports village’, where architectural transparency and versatile spaces invite movement, encounters, and shared activities. The village supports everything from everyday workouts to social gatherings, pop-ups, and events, making it a true platform for diverse lifestyles.
A Central Gathering Hub
A curved giant staircase at the street corner becomes the natural gathering space for the community, combining visual impact with multifunctional use. Yellow volumes punctuate the space, creating a vibrant, youthful atmosphere. Whether for extroverted or introverted personalities, the hub offers spaces for relaxation, socialising, or simply watching the neighbourhood flow.
The Social Pool
A standout feature is the central social pool, designed not only as a visual focal point but as a place to relax, meet friends, and enjoy the summer. Surrounded by seating, greenery, and shaded areas, the pool transforms the site into a playful and refreshing destination, blending leisure and community energy.
The Versatile Social Lawn
Beyond sports, the large open lawn is designed as a multifunctional platform for community camping, open-air markets, concerts, and large events. This flexible green space encourages residents and visitors to transition from daily exercise to major urban happenings, positioning the lawn as a key stage for community life.
Retail and Neighbourhood Impact
The project introduces a vibrant social core not only for residents but also for neighbouring communities within a one-kilometre radius. Thematic commercial spaces complement Phase I amenities, creating a mixed-use district where sports, commerce, and lifestyle come together.
The Boyu Sports Retail project is anticipated to open to the public by the end of 2025.
