Jan Clostermann and Christian Taeubert, directors of CLOU, have received the 2019 Iconic Award and the 2018 Architecture MasterPrize for CLOU’s Wuyi Yuansu Hot Spring Resort. The ceremony events took place at Munich Pinakothek der Moderne and Bilbao Guggenheim Museum.
The project has been awarded ‘Best of Best’ by the Iconic Award committee and praised as ‘A magnificent contemporary nature tourism project that will also help boost the local economy.’
The Jury’s statement also adds: ‘Wuyi Yuansu Resort will offer both day tourists and overnight guests the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of nature. The design harmoniously combines the facility’s architecture with nature and water, judiciously integrating it into the natural landscape in a fashion that is bound to engender a highly satisfying resort experience. In addition, two other projects – Play Stack Shenyang and Shoukai Vanke Daxing have also been named as winners in the category of ‘Shopping Centres’ at the 2019 Iconic Awards.
